Lost Data

I didn't post lately because my home computer hard disk crash I had had last weekend. The disk suffers from physical damage. The worst thing, though, is the fact that may be I lost a lot of data and sources. Not speaking about browser favorites (about 1000), mssql datafiles, aggregator opml, sources of this site. And other useful things. So I'm looking how to save some of that. And of course there was no backup. Don't use Maxtor. In other areas everything is just fine.

Update: just remebered about this. Have a good read...

# re: Lost Data
I had a similar problem this past Summer. I did a little research and, while I'm not claiming this is the greatest possible product, I've been using Eazy Backup from AJ Systems (http://www.ajsystems.com/ezb.html) for the last four month, including one system changeover when my laptop screen died and I had to use a loaner temporarily, and I'm very happy. A small software shop, so I email or talk directly with the developer/owner whenever I have a question or problem. I bought a Ximeta 160GB NAS device at the same time, the good thing about this was it has Ethernet and not just USB so it connects to my router instead of a PC plus Fry's had a very good price on it at the time but for this part of the solution there are many good alternatives to choose from.

Good luck!
